Clara Maynard's Expert Gear Recommendations
Ice Climbing
My favorite gear to be warm, safe, and comfortable
- G-Summit by La Sportiva
- Aero by Blue Ice — Best ice screw on the market in my opinion. Lighter than the Petzl ultralight screws!
- Petzl Nomic Ice Tool by Petzl — Best all around tool for my hands. I use it these for almost everything. No head weights for me though!
- G20 Plus by Grivel — I prefer monos over duals I feel like it reduces the calf pump for me.
- Aero Lite by Blue Ice — I use a 19 or 22cm for glacier travel. Lightest screw per cm on the market.
- Ice Screw Cannon by High Mountain Gear — The only ice screw storage and transport that is worth purchasing in my opinion. It just makes sense!
- 8.0 Alpine Core Protect Dry Rope 60m by Mammut
- Women's Capilene® Thermal Weight Bottoms by Patagonia — These are way stretchier than the midweight bottoms, allow for better freedom of movement, and for most days my legs run cold so I appreciate these.
