Trail Runner
Oxford, OHI would say that I try to continue to pursue my full potential. I want to grow as an athlete and human, and that will change year after year.
I am firstly a dad, a husband, and son. By trade, I have my own acupuncture/personal training practice in Oxford, Ohio. I have been running since 2004 and began trail running in 2021. I currently represent Mount to Coast’s Ultra Crew. I would say my favorite distance to race is the 100 miler. It requires a lot of mental and physical strength, gear management, nutrition planning, and navigation in some cases. It’s so rewarding to travel that far on foot.

Gear List
This is the gear that I use to train and race in on a regular basis. Consistent, reliable, durable, etc…all these are accurate terms to describe the gear I use and what I want when searching for the right item.
- H1 by Mount to Coast — I use the Mount to Coast H1 as a reliable shoe for most trail runs and faster road runs. I have also used them in a few ultras and I’ve never had an issues. No blisters, black toenails, outsole issues, pricing problems. Highly recommend this shoe if you’re looking for durability and performance.
- T1 by Mount to Coast — This shoe is my go-to for strict trail runs. The Vibram outsole has amazing grip and the shoe itself has a lower profile, which I prefer for the ground feel it gives on trails. It’s also a fast shoe!
- Vertix 2S by Coros — I have the Coros Vertix 2, so the 2S is an upgrade. My Vertix 2 has been going strong since 2022. The battery life is insane. I charge it maybe once every other month or so.
- Drink Mix 320 by Maurten — I have always used Maurten for my racing. Not so much fueling for training, but I’ve always had success with Maurten in races. Zero GI distress and efficient fueling.
- Drink Mix 320 Caf 100 by Maurten — This is the drink mix I use for the last half of my races. The caffeine definitely is a nice touch to give me more fuel and, mainly, focus to get the job done.
