During my thru hike of the Appalachian Trail in 2019 I was given the trail name of Candy Mama. I ate way too much candy and “mom’d” everyone. During that time I fell in love with trails, the outdoors and the communities that frequent them. Since then I have set a couple FKTs (fastest known time records), have run dozens of ultramarathon trail races, and thru hiked several other notable trails. I began my YouTube channel, Tara Treks, as a creative outlet. These days I vlog a lot of my 100 mile races, thru hikes and FKTs but also create informative content that helps others get outside.
