Sam Tarling's Expert Gear Recommendations
Alpine skiing gear
- Unisex Racing Ski Boots Hero World Cup 140 by Rossignol — I've been running these shells for the last 4 years and find the flex progression to be optimal for aggressive skiing. I have pin inserts added by CAST and grip soles for modifications, which allows me to tour around the Jackson Hole sidecountry.
- SENDER 110 OPEN by Rossignol — I've been skiing the Sender 110 since it was released 3 years ago. It is intuitive, easy to ski and handles all types of snow. I mount this ski at -2cm or -1.5cm since I find the recommended mount point to be very progressive.
- Freetour 2.0 Pivot 15 by CAST Touring — The CAST freetour is the only true inbounds-capable touring binding, in my opinion. It is a true Look Pivot binding, with the ability to skin for short sidecountry access.
- Barryvox S2 by Mammut — This is my favorite beacon to date. It is intuitive and easy to use and extremely low-profile.
- Free Pro by Pomoca — This Pomoca skin is the best combination of ease-of-use, durability and gliding speed.
