Katadyn BeFree 1.0L Ultralight Collapsible Water Filter Bottle for Hiking, Camping, Backpacking by Amazon — I carry this compact water filter on long trail runs so I can either eliminate the need for staging water, or as back up just in case my water logistics don't go as planned. This is literally a life saver. It filters fast and doesn't take up a lot of space and is lightweight.
La Sportiva Men's Bushido III Trail-Running Shoes Blue 48.5 EU by La Sportiva — These shoes are working really well for me during technical mountain running. They hold my feet in place on technical descents to help prevent destroying my toes. The grippy but low profile lugs are fantastic on all kinds of rock from dry sandstone to wet slippery mossy rock. I have heel bones that stick out and cause bone spurs and these don't irritate my heels like many other shoes do.
Strider Pro Shorts 3.5" - Women's by REI — I have the women's strider pro shorts 3 1/2" and they are my absolute most favorite shorts for essentially every activity from running to hanging out with friends. They're the most flattering shorts I own and super durable and practical. I've pulled and stretched on these under a climbing harness and they keep their shape. One pair I've had for many years now and they are still in great condition.
Shokz OpenRun Mini Headphones by Shokz — I didn't used to be an audio listener when I went on runs, but with these headphones, I can still hear my surroundings and they pair easily to my watch or phone. Great audio for music listening or podcasts or talking on the phone. I use these for work meetings or to chat with friends. So comfortable I forget I'm wearing them.
Garmin fenix 8 Pro AMOLED Sapphire by Garmin — The Garmin Fenix has been my go-to watch for almost 7 years now. I had the Fenix 6s and it was still functioning just fine when I decided to upgrade to the Fenix 8 Pro. It is important to me to be able to see and navigate through detailed maps right on my watch. Ultimately I listen to my body intuively, but I pretty much always find that the health metrics the watch gives me for HRV, stress, heart rate, etc. are spot on and that helps me to adjust and validate my training plan accordingly.
Darn Tough Men's Stride Micro Crew Ultralightweight Socks by Darn Tough — I've been wearing Darn Tough Socks for about 15 years and I actually have at least one pair that I have had for as long. When I say to people these are the best socks ever, I am not exaggerating. I am hard on my socks and these not only last a long time without getting holes or wearing out, but if they do, then you can send them back for the price of shipping and they will give you a store credit for replacement socks. I have utilized this warranty and there are no catches. Save up at least a few old pairs to save in shipping and then get your store credit. I have many models of Darn Tough socks for various activities from running to farm work to lounging about. I even wear the ultra thin ones with my climbing shoes!
Skwama Vegan by La Sportiva — I have recently upgraded to the Skwamas from the Tarantulas as I am progressing in my climbing skills and looking for something more aggressive. I have truly noticed improvements in my climbing while wearing these. They fit me better than the other aggressive shoes I tried and I feel like they are a good blend of a boulder shoe and sport shoe.
Buff Merino Lightweight Multifunctional Neckwear by Buff — I carry my merino buff with me on all adventures. This is such a versatile item to have. I use this for extra warmth on my neck and lower face. I use it as a head band or extra layer to wear under my climbing helmet. Even a nose hanky 😂 or a back up towel when you don't have a full size one!
C30 Energy Gel Trial Pack by Neversecond — I started using Neversecond because it is often at aid stations in the races I have been doing. I've had trouble with a lot of gels in the past that upset my stomach in the late stages of a race. I haven't had that experience with these. They also contain sodium, which simplifies my electrolyte regime.
Distance Backpack by Black Diamond — I love this pack. It is like a running vest but stores so much more. It hardly bounces. Fits super comfortably. Has so many useful pockets. I use this for longer excursions where I need extra gear and layers.
Hotforge Hybrid Quickdraw 16 cm by Black Diamond — These are the quick draws I use for sport climbing. I prefer having a wire gate for the rope side and solid gate for the bolt side. Great set to have.
Metolius PAS 22 Personal Anchor System by Metolius — I always have this PAS attached to my harness. Very handy for cleaning routes or going in direct to a bolt if needed.
Petzl Women's Borea Climbing Helmet by Petzl — Love this helmet. Love the slight cutout for a ponytail. Very comfortable. I never even take this off for a whole day of climbing and forget I'm wearing it.
