Price: $8.95
- Who it's for
- Climbers who want a lightweight, full-size non-locking carabiner for general racking, alpine draws, quickdraws, anchor building, or clipping slings and accessories to a harness. Its low price makes it a preferred choice for gear that may be left behind on a bail.
- What people are saying
- Hosts consistently praise the large basket, light weight, ease of operation with or without gloves, and relatively low cost. The one repeated caveat is a snagging nose — one host recommends stepping up to the Camp Dyon for a keylock nose at minimal weight penalty.
- Worth noting
- The non-keylock nose is the only flagged durability/usability concern, specifically snagging on things during use. Multiple colors are available, which hosts use to color-code gear.
Philip Burnett's review
Also a fantastic option for rope side work. Great on alpine draws, quick draws, or for racking cams. Definitely my main go-to carabiner.

Cora Hanson, AMGA Single Pitch Instructor
My Microtraxion lives on this carabiner for easy deployment, and I also use these to wear my 120cm slings cross-body for quick access.

I use these caabiners to rack all my anchors and "other" accessories. I also bring 2 extra to use for building anchors. These are the carabiners I use to bail off. I like them because they handle great, are light, and relatively inexpensive.

I've been using the Camp Photon wiregates on my alpine draws for years. They have a big basket, but are still quite light. Only downside is the nose can get snagged on things. If you want to spend a bit more, check out the Camp Dyon. Keylock nose with a minimal weight penalty, but still a large basket.

Great all-around non-locker that balances price with function. All colors available for a variety of needs, including racking cams, holding anchor material, etc.
