    Who it's for
Backcountry travelers who want a full-featured beacon and are willing to invest time learning it. Hosts emphasize it suits those who prioritize reliability and performance in complex, multiple-burial scenarios.
    What people are saying
Hosts consistently call it the best beacon on the market, praising its accuracy, speed, and low-profile form factor. One caveat noted: the feature set has a learning curve, and rushing through a search works against it.
    Worth noting
One host cites a 70-meter range as best on the market. Notes are largely one-sided positive, with the only practical flag being the need to practice and stay deliberate under pressure.

This transceiver has all the bells and whistles, can take a bit to learn and best advice I can give is to "SLOW DOWN" with this transceiver and you will still find a complex burial scenerio in enough time to pass the test! Best range on the market at 70meters

At every professional grade avalanche program I have been a part of when the team does a beacon check Barryvox's are 90% of what is pulled out. This is the industry standard for beacons and provides a very easy to use screen and system. The S2 Provides additional features for more technologically inclined users. If this is not needed save your funds and buy the Barryvox 2 instead.
