    Trail Running - Meg Cooke

Meg Cooke's expert gear recommendations on Rendezvu

    Products in this list

    • Prodigio Pro Womens by La Sportiva — I love love love this shoe, and the fact that women have won 100k trail races, 8 mile mountain races and 20 mile skyraces in it tells you that it can handle everything, at speed.
    • Naked® Running Band by Naked Sports Innovations — I've tried the others, and I always come back to my naked belt for comfort, low bounce, and really good capacity even in small human size (I wear a size 1). I've used this belt in a 6 hour race with just 3 aid stations.
    • Pure 3 Inch Shorts Women's by La Sportiva — Love love love, a split short that isn't too split. AND I can wear a belt with these without the loose fabric riding up. Love it.
    • 650mL Locking Cap Flask by Raide Research — The locking cap on this bottle is perfect for shoving into a belt and not worrying about the valve opening. Also, the sneaker extra 150 ml of capacity is great over a 500 ml softie.
    • ULTRATRAIL FX.ONE SUPERLITE by Leki — Best running pole on the market IMO, never broken one and they've seen some serious front range talus. At 5'3" I run a 115 (10 cm shorter than my skimo pole).
    • Speed Leggy 4" by rabbit — I own an embarrassing number of pairs of shorts, but these are always the ones I want for a key workout or big long run. Mine are 4 years old, have been washed hundreds of times (literally) and are still going strong. I also have the shorter length (2"), but these are nice for an extra bit of coverage.
