- Margarita Flavor with 3X Sodium by clif bar logo
- Solid 160 by Maurten — This has become one of my go-to real-food options. I usually eat it on the way up a climb, and it always sits well with my sensitive stomach. The seam in the middle makes it easy to break into two pieces, which is great when I want to save half for later. To me, it tastes like a less-sweet, denser Rice Krispies Treat. Reliable, easy to eat, and exactly what I want in a long effort.
- SaltStick FastChews Chewable Electrolyte Tablets - 10 Tablets by SaltStick — I always keep a bag of these in my pack for hot-weather long runs and race days, especially when I feel like I’m falling behind on sodium. They’re really tasty (the watermelon flavor is my favorite), and I find them easier to absorb than capsules.
- BETA Fuel Gels by SiS Science in Sport Logo — These are some of my favorite gels for training and racing. The texture is thicker than a liquid gel but still smooth and easy to consume. Strawberry Lime and Orange are excellent flavors. I especially reach for these during the winter months because their lower sodium content aligns when sweat loss is lower.
- Amacx Drink Gel by The Feed — Best consistency and so easy to get down, even 20+ hours into a 100-miler without getting old. Strawberry and raspberry are my favorite flavors. They work really well with my sensitive stomach, and I love that they’re gluten-free.
