Broken Arrow Ascent & 23k - Lara Hamilton

a pinnacle event of the trail season, pretty much the entire North American trail scene rocks up + some very good international athletes. Better have the right kit to crush it on both days ;)

Lara Hamilton's expert gear recommendations on Rendezvu

    Products in this list

    • SALOMON S/LAB PULSAR 4 by Salomon — A step up with a bit more stability than the last iteration of the S/LAB pulsar. Also a great race shoe. I wear a USW10.5 in Salomon.
    • Apex 4 by COROS — + the HR strap, a lightweight watch that has all the stats you need and super accurate data. I love digging in post race.
    • FRACTEL RACE SINGLET by Fractel — For a race singlet, the fabric has to be light, which often means breathable, and look crisp with the rest of my fit
    • FRACTEL Performance Crew Socks by Fractel — The socks matching the race singlet is a no-brainer, and to make it even better the socks have compression zones for that extra support. You also don't get blisters in these, and there's a cute 'Why We Run' message that you'll see when you pop them on for your next race ;)
    • ADIDASTerrex Running Belt by boutique en ligne — Probably the only belt I've used that actually doesn't bounce, and is entirely adjustable. This is important in hot races where inevitably, you'll lose water weight, and need to tighten the belt!
    • 300ML Flow Bottle by Precision Hydration — I use smaller bottles to disperse the weight in my belt more evenly. They're also much easier to carry. I'll split my dosage up of skratch between 2 bottles, and often it's enough to carry me through 2h of racing
    • Maurten GEL 100 CAF 100 by The Feed — I just need 1 CAF 100 gel from Maurten before the start of a road 10k, about 20 mins prior to start, and I'm FIRING on all cylinders :)
    • SKRATCH LABS SUPER HIGH CARB Drink Mix 840g by The Feed — I swear by this. All I need in a sub-ultra is Skratch. The gels are just extra. I've never bonked on this stuff. HOT TIP: mix the night before, shake like you're making a cocktail, and then throw it in the fridge overnight.
    • LSKD Black Run Short by LSKD US — These are perfect. Lightweight, don't rise up, and have little pockets for gels + keys!
