LF 2L by Raide Research — This running belt is my go to for slightly longer outings where I want to carry exactly what I need, but still be extremely light. I’ve run 20-25 mile, big-mountain routes with just this belt. No bounce, no chafe, no nonsense.
Vertix 2S by COROS — Rarely leaves my wrist. Charge it for a couple hours and it lasts all month. Easy to use, durable, and intuitive.
Heart Rate Monitor by COROS — Makes my watch just a bit more accurate! Long battery life and simple design.
Naked® Running Band by Naked Sports Innovations — My daily training belt. Holds a surprising amount of gear: soft flask, Houdini shell, keys, gloves, gummy worms, etc.
005 - M - Neve by Norda — One of the top trail shoes on the market. A great pick for race day. Bombproof construction, amazing bounce and energy return without feeling sketchy, unbelievably light. Even more durable. They’re as bouncy and fun now, at 700 miles, as they were at 7 miles.
Ultra Vest Pro by On — Stable, comfortable, intuitive design. The detachable dry bag is a great idea.
ULTRATRAIL FX.ONE (PAST SEASONS) by Leki — Not the lightest pole in the world. But super durable; the glove component makes for excellent power transfer and helps with the ‘up’ quite a bit.
Precision Fuel - Carb Only Drink Mix - 30 Serving by Precision Fuel — Great taste. Excellent metrics. Sits well.
PF 300 Flow Gel by Precision Hydration — Great simple taste. Sits very well. Excellent metrics. Amazing value and convenience.
42mm Filter Cap by HydraPak — Combine this locking filter cap with something like the Raide belt and you have an ultralight kit that can go the distance.
Men's Cloudultra Pro Ivory | Iceberg by On — Race day shoe for folks who plan on ~running~
Light, efficient, drains well.
Kjerag 01 White/Grey by NNormal — My go to shoe for highly technical trail; long alpine routes with stream crossings, scree, and heinous trail-quality. Low to the ground, grippy, reliable, insanely light. Seems tailor made for running here in the Elk mountains.
Ketone-IQ Shots by Ketone-IQ — An energy tool for metabolic and mental endurance; I use this for key workouts and longruns and it’s always coming with me to race day.
Vert by Smith Optics — These specs just disappear on my face. Light and barely noticeable, they give me great FOV, fit my broken nose, and don’t give me aches on the side of my head wearing them all day. Plus I think they look cool.
Clean Creatine - 45 Servings by Ascent Protein — Creatine helps ultra mountain runners stay strong when it matters most—boosting short, high-intensity efforts on steep climbs, reducing muscle breakdown over long distances, and improving recovery so you can train and perform consistently in tough terrain.
hydra endura electrolytes by Hydra Endura — My favorite simple electrolyte mix right now.
Crew Length by Creepers Socks — My favorite toe socks. There are plenty of toe socks out there. But these keep me comfy and most importantly: DRY. Multiple stream crossings, rain, sweat, they dry fast. Which is invaluable in the backcountry.
Men’s Altamesa 500 V2 Shoes by The North Face — My high cushion daily trainer. These just eat miles, keep my feet and joints happy with high volume weeks. Incredibly light and snappy for how stable and protective a platform as it is.
Pyrenees Hoodie by PATH Projects — I usually just can’t use sun hoodies. They’re too hot and constricting for me. Whatever Path projects has done, has made a useful sun hoody that I actually want to wear. The hand gussets actually have enough length to make sense, and the watch-window is a well thought out feature.
Men's Cloudultra 3 by On — A great daily trainer for when I’m craving that OnCloud performance but don’t want to put miles on my Cloud Ultra Pros. A nice damp and protective ride, combined with a bit more ground feel make this my choice for long outings on technical terrain. Drains & breathes super well.
Distance 1500 Headlamp by Black Diamond — I call this my “A Light” it really only comes out for races. It’s gotta big beefy battery, while still being light; and most importantly it has like 2 buttons that are easy to use when everything else is hard.
Distance Carbon Z Poles by Black Diamond — Another tried and true classic trail pole. Truly lightweight and very durable for a carbon pole. Carbide tips maintain grip on basically any surface. A great option if you don’t like wearing those Leki gloves.
Nokhu Mini Rack by Nokhu — This gear rack comes in at a crazy value. Helps me things organized when I head out on big missions. Fits very well in my Subaru and also doubles as a great aid station setup.
Dri-Fit Solar Chase Short-Sleeve Shirt - Men's by Nike — Always reach for this shirt when it’s clean, sometimes even when it’s not.
Allpa 60L Gear Hauler Tote by Cotopaxi-Amigos-24 — My gear hauling trunk bag. I can get a few pairs of shoes in here, a vest, running belts, nutrition, lighting, poles…all of it.
S/LAB SENSE 6 by Salomon — My go-to vest when I want to carry extra fluid. Super light and breathable; a great option for hotter days and race courses with less aid station reliability.
ACG Zegama Trail Running Shoe by Backcountry — Everything I loved about Zegama 2 just better. It’s plush and comfortable without the feeling of bottoming out or bouncing me all over the trail. The upper is vastly improved, traction is much more rubust. Probably one of the few next-gen trail shoes that got heavier. However it’s not noticeable underfoot. The ride of the ZoomX midsole is exceptional; this is a top contender for my ultra distance racer of the season. Wow.
