These hardgoods are great for intermediate through expert men who ski mostly frontside but go off piste and dabble in the park and on side hits from time to time. They are, in my opinion, the best performers per dollar spent!
Fx96 Hp Skis 2022 by Kastle — To get a pair of boutique Kästle skis under a grand is an automatic "yes," especially when they are the raddest ski they make (the FX96, which is their freeride ski with all-mountain capability and a versatile 96mm waist width). Jump on it!
Blizzard Men's Anomaly 102 Skis Purple 182 Cm by Blizzard — A killer deal on the updated Brahma/Bonafide cult classic from Blizzard (I own the Bonafide, its predecessor). These have become easier to turn and a little lighter, but are still the crud-busting all-mountain rippers with no speed limit they used to be. A rather flat tail and long turn radius means these can carve trenches with GS and Super G style turns, yet they aren't a fully cambered race-style ski, so they are more versatile off piste.
Sender 104 TI Ski - 2024 by Rossignol — The first ski I think of when I think "Bang for the Buck." The titanal version of the Sender actually has only a little metal added down the center spine, so it isn't a heavy plank at all. It has what I consider the perfect shape and radius for universal appeal and can be used by athletic intermediates all the way to expert skiers (like so many US Ski Team members that use this as their non-race ski).
Wingman 83 TI Ski - 2026 by Elan — A narrower, groomer-focused all-mountain ski from Elan featuring its famed Amphibio technology that yields distinct left and right skis. The Ripstick gets all the press from Elan, but the Wingman quietly carves even better, and with the metal laminate, has more power. A great intermediate and advanced East Coast daily driver.
Sender Soul 92 Ski - 2026 by Rossignol — A super agreeable intermediate all-mountain ski with a playful feel due to its lightweight paulownia wood core and air tip tech. My Rossi Experience 88s from several years ago are very similar to this ski (it seemed to auto-ski itself, it was so approachable), but this has more tip and tail rocker so it can be used off trail and in trees with much more ease.
Paragon 93 Ski - 2025 by Kastle — At list price, these aren't recommended, but at this price, they are a steal! Boutique quality and the next update from the famed FX series from Kästle that adds more tip and tail rocker to the MX classics that made them famous: this yields more off-trail capability! At the same time, these are at home on piste with a titanal laminate and dense poplar/beech/paulownia core. They can carve and play, which is rare for a Kästle.
Mindbender 89Ti Ski - 2026 by K2 — Given that this is competing with the Mantra 88, Anomoly 88, M Pro 94 Ti, Stormrider 95, and MX88, but it costs way less and performs nearly as well, I do think this deserves to be here. I reviewed this ski on video (ask if interested), and it is a classic all-mountain ski with a perfect frontside shape. Even though it is a K2, it actually skis very traditionally due to the shape of the titanal in the tail; it carves very well and is predictable.
Rossignol Men's Alltrack 90 HV BOA GW Ski Boots Gray 24.5 Mondo by Rossignol — This deal is nuts! A top quality Rossi boot (they have the comfiest liners IMO) with a walk mode and a BOA fit system for $399?! This has a 90 flex which is great for athletic beginners all the way to lighter advanced skiers. 102mm width isn't HV (High Volume) like you might think, just on the wider side of medium. If you do have narrow feet, then look elsewhere, but otherwise you will be fine.
Rossignol Men's Alltrack 90 Pro MV LT GW Ski Boots Khaki 26.5 Mondo by Rossignol — The mid-volume 100mm freeride boot from Rossignol that has tech inserts for pin bindings, a walk/tour mode, and easy step-in. Killer deal.
Dalbello Men's Cabrio MV 90 IF Ski Boots Gray 26.5 Mondo by Dalbello — I own the previous edition, the Panterra, of these, in a higher flex and my next boot will be these. The 90 flex means that experts need not apply, but they offer flex up to 130. The cabrio style is the best, most comfortable type of ski boot and I recommend them to everyone having been a convert myself. These could command nearly twice the price! Adjustable ramp angle, calf fit with spoilers, sole type, width, buckle length and position...nearly everything. You can get them on hands-free!
Atomic Hawx Ultra 100 Dual BOA Ski Boots Black 25.5 Mondo by Atomic — The cheapest dual BOA boot you can find (where you just turn dials to adjust fit instead of dealing with buckles). The 100 flex is appropriate for intermediate and advanced skiers, and the 100mm sole width fits most feet. I owned a pair of Hawx boots and they disappear on your feet - just a quality, standard-style boot just about anyone can get along with.
Panterra 100 Ski Boot - 2024 by Dalbello Sports — $650 boots for under $200? Yes please! And they happen the be the best boots that were on the market in 2024 - I own the 130 flex and will never go to another boot! If your size is available, snatch these up.
Hawx Prime 100 Ski Boot by Atomic — Nutso deal on a boot that is already one of the best bang for the buck boots on the market. If you are looking for a medium width, medium flex, standard ski boot, look no further. I owned the 90 flex ones and paid twice as much!
Speedmachine 3 110 X Ski Boots 2024 by Nordica — The classic piste boot from the most popular bootmaker of all time on sale due to the model year! These are for lighter experts, all advanced skiers, and heavier intermediates who ski in bounds the majority of the time (so, most everyone)!
Panterra 130 ID Ski Boot - 2024 by Dalbello Sports — I own the 2021 version and would be these again in an instant if they had my size. If they have yours, look no further! The cabrio style + 3D wrap liner + infinite adjustability (including width and flex!) mean that you will be happy and maximally comfortable skiing.
Shadow 100 Mv Gw Ski Boots - Men's - 2025 by Lange — How are these on sale?! The Shadow revolutionized the industry last year with the first true boot tech advancement in decades - its dual pivot style which amplifies skier input and makes you do less for the same performance. Check YouTube - all of the best review sites rave about how it literally makes skiing easier when you are in a Shadow. These are appropriate for nearly everyone, too, as they have a medium flex and medium volume. Not for beginners or heavy experts.
BFC 100 Ski Boot - 2026 - Men's by K2 — The best value boot for folks who need a higher volume/wider boot and who seek comfort as a priority. The Big Freakin' Comfort model from K2, like all K2 boots, punches above its price point in performance and this 100 flex model will work for everyone from low intermediates to lighter weight experts.
Meta Ski Poles by Level Nine Sports — My favorite poles on sale! These are the most stylish poles you can find, I think. Standard alloy with powder-style baskets.
Tactic Ski Pole by Level Nine Sports — The classic pole from Rossignol - I have owned them and have no complaints! Standard alloy with a 60mm basket for on piste skiing.
Attack 14 Gripwalk Ski Binding by Level Nine Sports — The best value binding, in my opinion. I have demoed these and they feel exactly the same as the pricier Marker Griffons with the differences being a slight weight increase and a chunkier toe piece. At 14 DIN, these are for advanced and expert skiers; lower DIN versions are available and cost even less!
Griffon 13 ID Ski Binding by Level Nine Sports — The binding I recommend everyone who is advanced or expert level (with the Squire being for beginners and intermediates). The performance to price ratio is excellent here, and the low weight of the Marker Royal Family series is what has made them industry leaders forever.
Squire 11 Ski Binding by Level Nine Sports — The standard-bearer for intermediate ski bindings! These and Tyrolia Attacks are the only bindings I recommend for those seeking the best bang for the buck (and honestly, I would recommend these regardless of price).
Scout Mips Helmet by Level Nine Sports — If you want a high quality helmet with MIPS protection from a trusted manufacturer under $100, this is usually the only one you will find! A no brainer.
Smith Descend Mips Snow Helmet Red M by Smith Optics — This and the Mission MIPS from Smith are the lids that come to mind in the Bang for the Buck category - they have all the bells and whistles of the high end helmets in the 100-150 dollar range, which is rare. Great venting and max level protection.
Beacon Goggles by Zeal — I own Zeals and can attest that their price to performance ratio is the best, being a smaller brand. Their lenses are top notch! If you don't need an intricate lens-swapping system, don't bother and just get these.
Lookout Goggles by Zeal — The lens-swapping Rail Lock system is super easy and costs hundreds (hundreds!) less than the intricate magnetic ones that lead the market and top the price charts. The lens quality of Zeal in my opinion matches POC at the highest level in the industry.
Smith Squad ChromaPop Snow Goggles - Low-Bridge Fit Purple Sun Black Gold Mirror/Clear by Smith Optics — The Squad has the same legendary ChromaPop lenses as the $400 MAG models but without the intricate magnetic lens swapping system. So if you are a set it and forget it skier like most of us, save the coin and grab these! Tons of size options including regular and low-bridge (known as Asian-fit w/ other brands) fit are available.
