    My 2025 AC100 Run - Daniel Weissauer

Tried and tested gear on one of the countries original and most challenging 100-mile races across the San Gabriel Mountains.

    Products in this list

    • adidas TERREX Agravic Speed Ultra Trail-Running Shoes by adidas — I used the ASU as my primary training shoe from May to August. The springy foam and plate hold up over the miles and the grip was great for the San Gabriel singletracks.
    • ADV SKIN 5 by Salomon — My Salomon pack was a key piece of equipment for long training runs and on race day. It snugly holds 3-5 soft flasks and hours of nutrition. During the race, I only used the front two flasks and quickly exchanged out the entire vest for a fresh one at each aid station.
    • PF90 Gel by Precision — Precision Fuel is my go-to nutrition source for training and racing. The PF90 is the best deal when you're logging lots of miles and lots of carbs. I take half a gel every 20-30 minutes and put the cap back on without any mess.
    • Nathan SpeedDraw 2.0 Insulated Flask - 18 fl. oz. Blue 18 Fl Oz by Nathan — Nathan handhelds are great for shorter training runs when you don't want a pack. I use these for the shorter sections of AC100, too, when I don't need my vest. During the hot parts of the day, I bring a Nathan handheld filled with ice and as it melts, I splash it on my face and neck.
    • SiS Beta Fuel Gel by The Feed — SiS gels get mixed into my high carb nutrition plan for the yummy flavors. They're great on my stomach, too, and I feel powered up shortly after taking one. I always get excited when I pull out a SiS gel on my long runs.
    • Enduro Quarter by Balega US — Balega Enduro's have been my favorite sock for over a decade of running in the mountains. They're the perfect thickness and material for staying cool and breathing well, drying out quickly and giving a little extra padding, not sliding around in your shoe and tall enough to not rub your achilles. They hold up pretty good over time, too.
    • M's 7" Multi Short 2-in-1 by Janji — These Janji shorts kept me chafe-free for all the training miles leading up to race day. The pockets hold plenty of gels and the leg pocket works great for a cell phone.
    • Fractel Bucket Hat by Fractel — Fractel makes my favorite bucket hats. The sweat doesn't drip into my eyes, it has plenty of airflow on the sides, the brim is wide enough for shade without it flopping around. I wear it when I'm not running, too.
    • Apex 2 by COROS — I love my Coros. It fits small on the wrist with a comfortable velcro strap, and the interface is customizeable and easy to read. It's super accurate in the backcountry and the app is easy to use. The battery life and accurace is the best for 100-mile races.

  1. COROS HR Monitor by COROS — For the most accurate heart rate feedback, I use the Coros heart rate arm band. I forget I have it on when I'm racing, and end up with the best feedback when analyzing my effort.
