• Garmin inReach Mini 3 Plus by Garmin — This is the satellite communicator I trust with my life, and I love that Garmin upgraded the inReach Mini 3 to allow you to send photos and voice messages in addition to the normal texts and SOS signals. It also responds to voice commands and has a color touch-screen display, which makes it super easy to use on the go.
• Petzl Swift RL Headlamp by Petzl — This is my favorite headlamp to use for serious climbs and adventures. It weighs in at only 100 grams, and yet it can cast up to 1,100 lumens which allows you to see up to 155 meters away. My favorite feature is that it has a reactive mode (with a minimum of 7 hours of battery life!) that senses ambient light and adjusts automatically to help you see what you need to so you can focus on the task at hand and not on adjusting its brightness.
• Black Diamond Spot 400 Headlamp by Black Diamond — This is a solid headlamp that can run off of both alkaline and rechargeable batteries, which makes packing backup batteries easy. It has simple functionality and great performance for an affordable price!
• Petzl Spatha Knife by Petzl — You never know when you might need a knife while out climbing. I primarily use mine for cutting away old tat from anchors so that I can then cut my 6mm cordellete to size at rappel stations.
• Sterling Alpine Accessory Cord - 6 mm/30 ft. by Sterling — This is the accessory cord I carry on multi-pitch climbs to replace tat at rappel anchors, or to make my own emergency rappels or prussiks if needed.
• SMC Aluminum Descending Ring by SMC — This is a cheap, lightweight aluminum rappel ring you can leave behind at rappel anchors or use if you need to bail off a route. I normally carry two of these with me on multi-pitch climbs.
• SOL Emergency Bivvy with Rescue Whistle and Tinder Cord by SOL — If there's ever the chance you might be stuck in the elements during inclement weather, I always recommend bringing along an emergency bivvy just in case. This bivvy packs down to smaller than a soda can and only weighs 3.8 oz, which is completely worth the pack space in my opinion.
