La Sportiva Men's Kubo Climbing Shoes Purple 45 EU by La Sportiva — I first tried the Kubo last season when I was looking for a comfortable guiding shoe that was easy to take on and off while also not compromising on performance, and I can confidently say that this shoe checks all of the boxes! I might size down my next pair by a 1/2 size for a slightly tighter fit.
La Sportiva TC Pro Climbing Shoes Green 40 EU by La Sportiva — If you climb on granite, this is your shoe. If you climb, period, this is your shoe. A rite of passage. I climb on a few pairs of the older generation but have tried the new edition, and can say they are still excellent shoes.
Mantra by La Sportiva — Have been climbing on them since early winter indoors and have been very impressed. I sized down more than I normally do for rock shoes and am happy that I did. Even though they are slippers, they hold their downturn quite well. A great training shoe.
Boulder X by La Sportiva — A burly (read:not light) approach shoe that climbs very very well. I use it a lot on 5.5 and under terrain in the Gunks. They are bulky and take up a decent amount of space in a bag, but they make me feel secure on rock, and that's worth it.
Scarpa Men's Instinct VS Climbing Shoes Black 45 EU by Scarpa — My first aggressive climbing shoe turned out to be an excellent all-around shoe. Very precise on boulders, and surprisingly excellent on tricky granite cracks and cryptic slabs. In the goldilocks zone in terms of feel: not too soft, not too stiff. Highly recommend.
