REI Co-op Flash 18 Pack Black

REI Co-op · $45REI Co-op Flash 18 Pack Black

“Perfect size for carrying my belay puffy, extra gloves, headlamp, food & water while ice climbing. I cut out all extra straps and features and it is the lightest/most packable/affordable pack for carrying inside a larger approach pack for days where I’m leaving a pack at the base of a climb.”

REI Co-op · $15REI Co-op Nalgene Sustain Logo Wide-Mouth Water Bottle

“Can handle boiling water well and also makes a good hot water bottle to warm someone up, which insulated flasks do not.”

REI Co-op Women's Flash 55 Pack Green S

REI Co-op · $160REI Co-op Women's Flash 55 Pack Green S

“The Women's REI Flash 55 backpack is a budget friendly option for a no-frills lightweight backpacking backpack. I love the roll-top feature that allows me to overstuff when needed, like when I decide that I want to carry a package of bakery muffins with me 😂. There is just the right amount of pockets and straps. Not too much. I'm a fan of the pockets on the waist strap, but the modular design allows you to remove these if you'd like. Fits well and has simple adjustments to dial in the fit as needed for various body types.”

REI Co-op Women's Sahara Long-Sleeve Solid Shirt

REI Co-op · $70REI Co-op Women's Sahara Long-Sleeve Solid Shirt

“My friend turned me onto this shirt. I teased her at first because it was basically all she wore anytime we went trail running together, but now I get it. Super lightweight, dries fast, great sun protection, and the button factor is clutch for when things get a little steamy out there.”

REI Co-op Flexlite Camp Chair Blue

Kristen Schindler

REI Co-op · $90REI Co-op Flexlite Camp Chair Blue

“Low energy crew members are NOT helpful crew members! Depending on the race, the pace, the terrain, the weather...you name it, you might be out there for 14 hours or 30+ hours. Tiny comforts matter more than you think. Having a place to sit, organize gear, eat, and mentally reset can make a huge difference over the course of a race. Just don't let your runner sit down in it for too long ;)”

REI Co-op Men's Campwell Workwear Pants

REI Co-op · $90REI Co-op Men's Campwell Workwear Pants

Callie Atkinson

REI Co-op · $60REI Co-op Women's Swiftland 6" Running Short Tights Gray M

“My go-to shorts. They fit well and have plenty of pockets and nothing bounces in the pockets. I’ve never had any issues with chafing while wearing these shorts.”

REI Co-op Minimalist GTX Mittens Black L

REI Co-op · $55REI Co-op Minimalist GTX Mittens Black L

“These are a lifesaver when the weather turns cold and wet. They got me through UTMB 2025 if that says anything! I use them as an outer layer over my running gloves to keep my hands warm and dry, especially in rain, snow, and windy mountain conditions. The GORE-TEX shell provides excellent waterproofing without adding much bulk, so they’re easy to throw in a race vest and pull out when conditions deteriorate. They’re especially great paired with a warmer liner glove on really cold days—the combination keeps my hands comfortable without having to carry a bulky winter glove.”

REI Co-op Men's Rainier Rain Jacket Red S

REI Co-op · $100REI Co-op Men's Rainier Rain Jacket Red S

“Get it on sale - around $40-50. Can "pack into itself" like a stuffsack and fit in a vest, or fit in a Raide 2L belt. Also if you do run with a vest, you want the jacket to be sized enough to cover your vest too. Because that's when you used it during a run.”
