Latok 20L Mountain Pack
“This is hands-down the best on-route pack I've found! It is durable, lightweight, has two front pockets for easy access, and the shoulder straps and front closures fit like a running vest. It stays put!”

Men's Mythic Ultra Down Jacket
“At just over a pound this is the lightest and best performing parka I have found. Fits true to size. Compresses down pretty small, too.”
Doug Dobkowski

Men's Latok GORE-TEX Pro Jacket
“This thing is a fortress! I am usually putting this on to keep the wind out. It is an incredible feeling when the wind is pusing on you with such ferocity, but nothing gets through. I am not an astronaut, but I feel like one up there.”
Doug Dobkowski
Rab · $200
Men's Mythic Down Shorts
“Honestly, I like puffy shorts. If you have these on over your longjohns and under your goretex pants, they add so much warmth. I can also get these on (under my goretex pants) with out taking them or my boots off! This is the best solution to the delema of lower body layers.”
Doug Dobkowski

Superlite 2-Person Shelter
“Those emergency bivies are pretty worthless. I refer to this contraption as a "Bothy Bag." It's basically an instant tent. They make them in different sizes, but the idea is you open it up and have people sit in it and it creates a micro climate. The thing blocks out the elements and warms up real fast. Imagine being high up on Washington in full conditions and a member of your group goes down. You will want one of these. Sorry for the nightmare fuel.”

Fulcrum GTX Glove
“These have become my go to climbing gloves. I always bring multiple gloves on trips, but I find that I use these 90 percent of the time.”
Jarrod Blundy

Men's Vapour-Rise™ Summit Jacket
“Technically I wear the Mountain Equipment Kinesis, but this is a near match since the Kinesis has been discontinued. It's my go-to winter midlayer as it sheds wind and water quite well, and is both warmer and more breathable than you'd expect. Another every day layer.”
Jarrod Blundy

Conduit Tights - Men's
“My favorite wicking baselayer bottom. Warm, but not too warm. Comfy. (Wish it had a fly.)”
Joe Kalis

Men's Khroma Kinetic Waterproof Ski Jacket
“Combination skiing/alpine/ice climbing shell for me. Does each job admirably well and has held up to the mixed abuses of ice climbing tools, variable conditions, and the wet/dry cycles of skiing and alpine ice. On year 3 and still going strong!”
Philip Burnett

Photon Pant - Men's
“Definitely on the heavier side overall, but what you get for the weight is amazing. Very warm and weather proof.”

Men's Xenair Alpine Light Insulated Jacket
“I've been using this layer extensively for the past few years. I use it on all of my shoulder season climbing outings as a outler layer if it gets chilly and as a mid layer in the winter under a shell or parka. It is lightweight and warm for its weight. I suggest layering with your preferred base layer or fleece.”
Nicholas Metz

Phantom Waterproof Pants
“These are some of the best lightweight waterproof pants I’ve used. They’ve saved me so many times, whether I’m high up in the mountains dealing with freezing, wet conditions, standing around at a race start, or crewing. They weigh practically nothing, so they’re easy to throw in my pack and forget about until I need them. The waterproofing is excellent, and I really like the drawstring waist, which makes them easy to adjust and keeps them secure over other layers.”
Daniel Ross

“These are an amazing choice for if you need to keep wearing your shorts public after your run. Runs a little small. I had to size up.”
