Petzl NOMIC by Petzl — The Petzl Nomic is THE ice tool to use for your hardest, proudest, and best sends on ice. Ive used this tool for years, and I love every swing. If you have to pick one ice tool to get you up your best climbs, chose the Nomic 10 times out of 10.
ROCHA by Petzl — The Petzl Rocha is my go to multi-use carabiner. Use it for belaying, rappelling, munter hitches, and more.
LASER SPEED LIGHT by Petzl — Ive used Petzl Laser Speed Screws for years now and I can't recommend them enough. They start great in the ice, provide plenty of space to clip into, and all around a great choice for the ice climber.
JOKER 9.1MM UNICORE by beal-planet — Ive used this rope for hard ice and sport climbing throughout the Northeast. It feeds smooth, handles well, and the dry-treatment is excellent for those wetter ice days.
AR-395a Harness Men's by Arc'teryx — Ive used this harness for years for all of my climbing. Its comfy, holds all of your gear, lightweight, and climbs like a dream. With four slots for ice clippers its as good at ice climbing as it is on the sport walls. And despite its lack of obvious padding, its one of the more comfortable harnesses I've worn.
3/8" SuperStatic2 Static Rope by Sterling — Ive used the 3/8" Sterling SuperStatic2 as my go to static line for years. Unlike most static ropes, it ties well, handles great, and is easy to use. In Connecticut we usually head to the crag with at least 100' of static to build anchors off of trees set well back from the edge of the cliff.
Zero Friend by Wild Country — Wild Country zero friends are one of my go to cams for smaller sizes. The .1-.5 zero friends live on my harness throughout rock season and find placements in the CT Traprock daily.
Friend Set 1, 2, 3 by Wild Country — Wild Country Cams are one of my go-to cams and I use them all the time.
Alloy Offsets by DMM North America — Ive used DMM Offset nuts for years. They bite great, fit well in the varied cracks in the CT trap rock, and work like a dream.
Peenuts by DMM North America — For smaller sizes of stoppers I choose the DMM Peanuts. Like the larger alloy offsets, I find they work exceptionally well in the CT Traprock.
KARMA 9.8MM by beal-planet — Ive used this rope for top roping for the past year, and really like it. I got it as a back-up rope due to its lower price point, but found myself reaching for it more and more on guided top rope days. It handles better than other ropes of its diameter, and has held up well to all the abuse that I throw at it.
ATTACHE by Petzl — These carabiners rock. My rack is a mix of these and the Rochas, and I love the versatility of both of them.
Contact Sling 8.0 180cm by Mammut — I use this sting all the time for anchors, longer extensions, and more. It lives on my harness whether I'm cragging on in the alpine.
7 mm Accessory Cords by Sterling — Cordalette materials. I recommend the 21 or 25' lengths for a cordalette.
GRIGRI by Petzl — The Grigri is the go to assisted belay device. Belay, rappel, self rescue, this device does it all and does it well.
SIROCCO ® by Petzl — This helmet rocks. Ive work it on ice, rock, alpine, everything. Its lightweight and breaths well.
