    Go-To - Allison Powell

    These are my go-to items!

Allison Powell's expert gear recommendations on Rendezvu

    Products in this list

    • Carbs Fuel Original 50g Energy Gel by Carbs Fuel — I've used Carbs across several multi-day events (200-mile races and FKTs), and I've yet to tire of the taste! They go down easily and have little flavor outside of "sweet". With 50 grams of carbs per serving, they are a great deal too!
    • COROS VERTIX 2S by COROS — I've used the Coros since Bigfoot 200. I love the long battery life and simple design!
    • W's Run All Day Tank by Janji — I love the cut of this tank! It's very flattering to my small shape lol. It's also comfortable, durable, and great under the sunchaser hoodie!
    • Janji W's Aurora Fleece Tight by Janji — The Janji fleece tights are so warm and cozy! They are great for running in cold weather or, here in Montana, can even be worn to work on a cold day! Don't tell ; )
    • W's TTech Pant by Janji — I love the Janji tech pant! Comfortable, easy to run in, crew in, live in! And I've done all 3!
    • 2Toms® SportShield® Anti Chafing Roll-On by 2Toms — I've used 2Toms since I started running! The roll-on sport stick creates a "seal" around my skin in heavy chafe areas. I would never start a long day without it!
    • Energy Gels by Hüma — Huma gels are all natural, vegan, and super tasty! I love the chocolate flavor, but you can't really go wrong with any of them! These are often in my pack for long run days and race day
    • Zygos 6.0 Race Vest by UltrAspire — After having other packs fail on me mid-race, I've become an Ultraspire lover. The packs are durable, strong, and can fit all the gear I need! Plus, they fit comfortably on my smaller form.
    • W's 3" Multi Short by Janji — I've been running in Janji for about 3 years and love their 3" shorts best. They are comfy, durable, and hold up across many, many hours of running, hiking, and living.
    • Sawyer Stay Put Bonding Base SPF 30 Sunscreen by Unknown — Sawyer stays put. I've applied this sunscreen once at 4am and not had a hint of a sunburn over 12 hours later. I love that I don't have to worry about continuing to reapply. I can put it once, and forget it!
    • LUNA Bar by clif bar logo — Lunas Bars never fail. They are light on my stomach, deliver some protein, and are around 200 calories per bar. I love that I can eat them and not feel like there is a pound of food in my stomach. Instead, I just feel that good energy powering me forward!

  1. Janji W's Thermalrunner Insulated Jacket by Janji — A light, but warm layer. I love running in this jacket in the winter, it's breathable, but keeps me toasty!
  2. Vortex Wind Block Gloves by Janji — I've been running in the Vortex gloves in the frigid cold of Bozeman, MT, and they hold up! I love the windshield layer to protect my hands even more, when needed. When not needed, I have full range of motion in my fingers!
  3. Women's Antora 4 by Merrell — The Merrell Antora is my go-to racing shoe. The sole has great grip, the shoe is comfortable, and the durability is fantastic. I wore the same pair for Cocodona training run, Cocodona, and a 3-day fastpack of the Wonderland Trail. They held up through it all! No holes or tears, just cool styles!
  4. MICROspikes ® Footwear Traction by Kahtoola — I've used Kahtoola microspikes for years, they are easy to put on and provide great traction for running in Montana's winter wonderland!
  5. 90g Alpha Direct Hoody by Houda Trail — I finally upgraded my collection of gear to include an AlphaDirect hoodie, and this piece by Houda Trail is phenomenal. Lightweight, packs small, but warm enough to serve on the plateau at night in Cocodona AND meet gear requirements!
  6. Maple UnTapped by UnTapped — I adore the simplicity of Untapped. As a sweet tooth, the maple syrup goes down easily and keeps my energy high!
  7. Shorthorn Socks by Terignota — I almost went crazy looking for socks that weren't $20+ for a pair! Enter Terignota. Great socks, great value. They do run small, so order a size up!
  8. Kogalla RA by Kogalla — I prefer waistlights to headlamps, and the Kogalla can't be beat! You have the option to choose battery pack size based on need, which is handy. I typically run with the largest size, which allows me to power my light AND charge my phone and my watch simultaneously.
  9. ACTIVE SKIN 12 by Salomon — The Salomon vests are great for shorter distance events or long training runs (3-7 hours)They are comfortable and hold a good amount of gear!
  10. ArmaSkin Anti-Blister Toe Liner Socks – Short by ArmaSkin — These socks are amazing! I first wore them for Cocodona last year, and they worked great. After Jigger Johnson 100 (which took 40 hours as second place!) I had no blisters or hot spots whatsoever. Incredible!
  11. Velocity™ 2L by HydraPak — I prefer using a bladder, as bottles up front have caused me some chest and rib pain, impacting my races (even soft flasks!) The 2L is perfect, you can fill it all the way up, or just halfway for a lighter pack!
