    Tahoe-Yosemite FKT - Allison Powell

All the gear I needed for 81 hours of movement!

Allison Powell's expert gear recommendations on Rendezvu

    Products in this list

    • 2Toms® SportShield® Anti Chafing Roll-On by 2Toms — I've used 2Toms since I started running! The roll-on sport stick creates a "seal" around my skin in heavy chafe areas. I would never start a long day without it!
    • W's 3" Multi Short by Janji — I've been running in Janji for about 3 years and love their 3" shorts best. They are comfy, durable, and hold up across many, many hours of running, hiking, and living.
    • Sawyer Stay Put Bonding Base SPF 30 Sunscreen by Unknown — Sawyer stays put. I've applied this sunscreen once at 4am and not had a hint of a sunburn over 12 hours later. I love that I don't have to worry about continuing to reapply. I can put it once, and forget it!
    • ArmaSkin Anti-Blister Toe Liner Socks – Short by ArmaSkin — These socks are amazing! I first wore them for Cocodona last year, and they worked great. After Jigger Johnson 100 (which took 40 hours as second place!) I had no blisters or hot spots whatsoever. Incredible!
    • COROS VERTIX 2S by COROS — I've used the Coros since Bigfoot 200. I love the long battery life and simple design!
    • W's Run All Day Tank by Janji — I love the cut of this tank! It's very flattering to my small shape lol. It's also comfortable, durable, and great under the sunchaser hoodie!
    • Vortex Wind Block Gloves by Janji — I've been running in the Vortex gloves in the frigid cold of Bozeman, MT, and they hold up! I love the windshield layer to protect my hands even more, when needed. When not needed, I have full range of motion in my fingers!
    • 90g Alpha Direct Hoody by Houda Trail — I finally upgraded my collection of gear to include an AlphaDirect hoodie, and this piece by Houda Trail is phenomenal. Lightweight, packs small, but warm enough to serve on the plateau at night in Cocodona AND meet gear requirements!
    • Janji W's Sunchaser 50 Hooded Long Sleeve by Janji — A great all-day option for sun protection and wind protection. It keeps you comfy and cool!
    • Winter Beanie by Janji — A warm hat can help you retain so much heat! The Janji beanie helped me finish Divide 200 as 1F with its warmth!
    • UltrAspire TRAVERSE 20L by UltrAspire — I was able to carry 11lbs of gear in this pack! All my food, warm layers, battery banks, and more, with ease!

  1. CORE Battery by Petzl — I used the IKO Core headlamp with a backup battery. One battery lasted all night (~11 hours) on medium mode.
  2. LifeStraw Peak Series Collapsible Squeeze 1L Bottle with Filter by LifeStraw - Online store — A great way to carry extra water, and so easy to just drink through the built in filter!
  3. UltraFlask™+ Filter Cap by HydraPak — This cap was easy to add on to HydraPak bottles and allowed me to simply fill water and go!
  4. INIU Pawsible Power Bank 10000mAh 45W by INIU — I took 2 10,000 mAh battery banks on this trip. I probably could have gotten away with 1, but it was nice to have the peace of mind that I could charge everything I needed as much as I wanted!
  5. inReach® Mini by Garmin — The inReach mini is so important! Not only is the SOS feature a great way to bring peace of mind to me (and my mom), the tracking feature also helps verify the FKT. You can also message through the inReach without cell service if you connect it to your phone, allowing some mental boost messages to come through!
  6. Enduro Quarter by Balega US — Balega socks are my favorite for weekly runs. Comfortable and durable, they check every box!
  7. SkyFlask™ Speed 500ml by HydraPak — Adding the filter cap onto my bottles was easy! A great addition to my backcountry adventures!
  8. Women's Pacer 2 Running Shoe - Pale Leaf by Craft Sportswear — I used road shoes on trail for the first time and really enjoyed the experience! Comfy, cushion-y and still enough grip to feel safe on the granite!
  9. Men's Ghost Whisperer™ Down Jacket by Mountain Hardwear — Jeff lent me his down jacket from Mountain Hardware and WOW! It was a lifesaver in the cold nights. I am buying one of my own FOR SURE. Cannot reccomend enough, the lightweight, the warmth, it was perfect for this trip!
