    Who it's for
Trad and alpine climbers who need versatile, lightweight slings for draws, anchors, tethering, and rappel extensions. Hosts recommend carrying multiple lengths (60cm, 120cm, 180cm, 240cm) and quantities of 6–12 for a full trad rack.
    What people are saying
Hosts consistently praise the lightweight, packable build and the neatly sewn bartack construction. The 60cm is called out for alpine draws and the 120cm ("double-length") is repeatedly flagged as essential for tethering, rappel extensions, and multipitch climbing.
    Worth noting
Notes are uniformly positive with no criticism or durability flags raised. No sizing or fit caveats apply, but hosts emphasize buying across multiple lengths rather than a single size.

    Teddy Dondanville's review

Sewn slings are critical for building top rope anchors, especially when using cams and/or stoppers. The Mammut Contact sling is a good choice because it’s strong, lightweight, and packable. I recommend having a selection of slings in the 120 millimeter and 240 millimeter lengths.

    What other hosts are saying

5 experts recommend the Mammut Contact Sling Dyneema 8.0 Blue 120 Cm.

    Dan Morley, Rock Climbing Guide

A 120cm version of this sling works great as a personal tether when building a top rope anchor. Pair it with Hollowblock Loop and a couple carabiners. Also can be used a part of a kit to ascend a rope.

    Doug Dobkowski, Outdoor Educator, Guide

It is important to have extendable slings when trad climbing. Extendable slings allow you to manage rope drag and help minimize your gear from walking. How many? I would say at least 6. The most I ever bring is 12. My normal rack uses 8 extendable slings and 2-4 quick draws.

Jarrod Blundy, Founder/Guide at Onward Mountain Guides

Lightweight slings. I carry one each of the 120cm, 180cm, and 240cm for anchoring, extending pro, and personal tethering. And the 60cm ones for my alpine draws!

Chris Johnson, Apprentice Climbing Guide, Professional Ski Patroller

Again, the Mammut Contact slings are great because of the neatly sewn bartack. 60cm lengths make great alpine draws.
