The Neox is the Grigri on steroids. You can use it for lead belaying, belaying a single rope in "guide mode," and rappelling a single strand.

The Grigri is my favorite assisted brake device, however the Neox is a great alternative for newer lead belayers. It does not perform as well belaying from above, in which case I much prefer the Grigri
