    Sara Aranda's review

There is a lot more cushion with the Vista. I use this model for all of my longer-distance efforts, and it doesn't matter if it's dirt road or technical single-track. I even use them for all my hiking and backpacking adventures. Having the extra cushion helps keep my feet happy for the long haul and provides more underfoot protection from roots and rocks. I actually like the tongue design of the Vista more than the MTN Racer (kinda wish all Topo shoes had this unique split tongue design!). It took me a while to realize that my foot issues had to do with the fact that I have wide feet and most brands don't actually fit well. Moving on to Topo Athletic has been a wonderful eye-opener for me. If you read my note about the MTN Racer 4 model, you'll see how those are best for mountainous and rugged terrain (I especially like to use them on shorter efforts due to their more minimal nature).

3 experts recommend the Topo Athletic Vista.

Kelly Mulvany, Endurance Sports Coach and Athlete!

Vibram outsole for traction, an extra roomy toe box to give your feet room to swell as the miles add up, and just enough cushion to keep your feet happy over the miles without feeling bulky. The Mountain Racer is also a lighter weight, less cushioned option that I love for shorter/faster trail runs.
