- Who it's for
- Professionals and serious backcountry users who want the industry-standard beacon, especially those who need advanced features for complex or multiple-burial scenarios. Those who don't need the extra tech should consider the standard Barryvox 2 to save money.
- What people are saying
- Hosts consistently praise it as fast, accurate, intuitive, and low-profile, calling it the dominant beacon in professional avalanche programs. One note flags that the advanced features take time to learn and require a deliberate, slowed-down search approach.

This transceiver has all the bells and whistles, can take a bit to learn and best advice I can give is to "SLOW DOWN" with this transceiver and you will still find a complex burial scenerio in enough time to pass the test! Best range on the market at 70meters

At every professional grade avalanche program I have been a part of when the team does a beacon check Barryvox's are 90% of what is pulled out. This is the industry standard for beacons and provides a very easy to use screen and system. The S2 Provides additional features for more technologically inclined users. If this is not needed save your funds and buy the Barryvox 2 instead.
