Cora Hanson, AMGA Single Pitch Instructor
This is the satellite communicator I trust with my life, and I love that Garmin upgraded the inReach Mini 3 to allow you to send photos and voice messages in addition to the normal texts and SOS signals. It also responds to voice commands and has a color touch-screen display, which makes it super easy to use on the go.

We've used a few iterations of the InReach mini for out-of-service adventures (and even in-service ones where you need an extra safety margin). This most recent allows you to exchange photos, which is a great addition. Be careful if traveling abroad; some countries do not allow these.

In solo efforts outside of a race, I will always bring this with me so there are eyes on me and I have a way to communicate in emergencies- I never rely on phone satellite messaging alone.
