    Jamie Hunyor's review

The Rocket X Trail quickly became my favorite trail super shoe while training for the Canyons 100k this spring. It’s made for Western States-style running so it’s a fast shoe especially on non-technical trails and dirt/gravel roads. I’ll be running my first 100 at Javelina this fall in a pair of these.

My favorite trail supershoe for training or racing fast on runnable terrain

These are my favorite trail running shoes I've ever raced in. I've never felt so fresh after a 50 mile run. The foam is incredible, combined with the carbon plate these are untouchable for fast ultras. I'll be utilizing them at JFK - relying on my confidence on the AT to get through the trail section and then forgo a shoe change when I know they'll be as good as any supershoe on the flat c&o canal section of the race.

So these are more my racing shoe, for example during Cocodona I would wear the Salomons on most the climbs and technical terrain, but wear these Hokas on the flatter and faster sections because they are very bouncy and light.
