- Who it's for
- Runners doing long-distance trail and ultra events on mixed terrain — gravel, dirt, sand, rock, and moderate technical trails — who want one shoe that handles road crossover too. Hosts with lower-volume feet specifically flag the top strap as a fit advantage.
- What people are saying
- Recurring praise centers on versatility across surfaces, a firm-yet-responsive ride, and trustworthy BOA + strap closure for long self-supported efforts; multiple hosts cite podium or course-record results in it. The top strap draws near-universal praise, though one host notes it won't suit everyone.
- Worth noting
- High price is acknowledged but hosts counter it with durability and mileage longevity; wide toe box is called out as a fit feature. The ATPU midsole is flagged as the most energetic Speedland ride yet, and the drop-in midsole is not compatible with custom insoles.

Emily Keddie, Ultra/Mountain Runner and Coach
Wore this shoe for an Overall Win at the Grand 2 Grand Ultra 171-mile stage race in southern Utah. Incredibly versatile shoe. Tread on the bottom is grippy enough for rock/sand/gravel security but also transitions well for segments of road. Handled deep sand and slick rock just as well. The velcro make for an incredibly easy adjustment and is highly comfortable on the top of the foot. The cable Boa dial is trustworthy- something required in long-distance, self-supported running and racing. This is also a great all-around trainer.

This will be my shoe of choice for the second half of the course as we will be transitioning from city to mountains and the PCT

This shoe is absolutely amazing in my opinion! Very responsive and flies on gravel terrain but don’t let that confuse you it does well on some techy stuff as well!
