This is my go-to ice clipper that permanently stays on my ice harness (you literally have to screw it into place). It is metal, but isn't fully rated as a carabiner. However, it will withstand chimney groveling and branch snagging, unlike it's plastic counterparts (only if you can get over the price tag). But imagine your rack of screws flying down the steep pitch you just led because your plastic clipper busted...might be worth it.
